Perfect house, the exact stay I was looking for with my dogs. Jake was great at communicating and fast to respond.

We loved staying at Jake's place. We were half a block from Walnut St. which was a very fun place to explore. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. Jake was very responsive. If we are ever in Pittsburgh again we will definitely stay here.

This home has been on my Pittsburgh favorites list and I’m glad I was able to finally stay. Centrally located to great restaurants, shops, and still on a peaceful block! Jake’s instructions to access the home was detailed and made for easy access after a busy day in Pittsburgh. Looking forward to enjoying this home in future for more than one night!

Nice property, located at a very convenient place. Close to walnut street, where there are lots of places to hang around. Host is very courteous. Responds to any queries/concerns almost instantly. Highly recommended place.

The home was as described and worked great for your group of 5. Parking at the rear of the property was accessible and perfect. A bagel place right around the corner too! The home was walking distance from U-Pitt and CMU which was the focus of our visit. Will definitely rent again. Thank you.

The location is stellar; the neighborhood vibe is fun. if you’re not sure about cities, this area felt perfectly safe. We walked, biked, rode buses. It was all easy and fun. Having parking was crucial and super convenient. The house is roomy, inviting, the beds were comfortable, showers very nice. The Wi-Fi was good, the TVs were great. The kitchen was basic, but we mostly had what we need. A few little problems cropped up related to basic maintenance. The washer is broken but there’s another washer downstairs we used. The freezer definitely needs defrosting and you can hardly close the door. Therefore, the icemaker doesn’t work and it only dispensed, warm water. Jake was very nice about that and made sure we had ice trays. The air conditioning doesn’t really get to the second floor very well. There’s a fan but when it’s in the 90s (as it seems always to be now) we had to freeze the first floor so that the second floor got even slightly cool.

Jake's place is in a great location near Walnut Street. If you like ice cream, Treats is only a 2-3 minute walk away. It met our expectations and Jake was a very responsive and nice host! Would absolutely stay here again if I was visiting Pittsburgh.

This was our third stay at this house! We just love the location and neighborhood. We love being able to park our car and location is close to everything we need! Jake is a great host and responds immediately with any questions we have. I’m sure we will stay again in the future!

Jake’s place was perfect for a quick MDW stay while visiting family! Jake was responsive, helpful, and accommodating. He was welcoming for our group, including 2 dogs, and his “no chores” approach makes checkout a breeze! The furniture and bedrooms were comfortable. Location was great! We only moved our car once all weekend to drive to a family graduation party in Irwin. Otherwise, we were able to walk everywhere. One thing to note: the place is not super baby/ little kid friendly. This was not an issue for us, but one outlet was partially exposed and there was a small loft area (not part of the listing) accessible via the second floor that had a loose handrail and some exposed construction materials (nails, etc). Both would could he easily secured/ blocked, but worth considering if you have lots of curious little ones! Overall, we had an easy and comfortable stay and would definitely consider staying again!

Great price, very comfortable and in a great spot in Pittsburgh

Location of this house is amazing. We were walking distance to so many great places in Shadyside. A few of the amenities are dated and need some TLC (microwave, bathroom tile, fridge) but those were very minor annoyances. We all loved this place and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Off street parking was also very key. Definitely worth the money - the location made our trip easy and enjoyable, and Jake was super responsive and friendly.

We were in town for my daughter’s college graduation weekend. Jake’s place is a convenient location, spacious and clean. There was plenty of room for grandma to sleep in the first floor bedroom and the rest of us upstairs. Place is clean and neighborhood is walkable. I would recommend.

As some previous reviews stated, there are a few minor cosmetic things such as a missing knob in the back screen door and a missing knob on the washer, but overall it was a great bnb. Very comfortable for the 4 of us.

We had a great stay in Pittsburgh! Easy walk to Carnegie Mellon, Walnut Street & parking was a breeze! We had no issues using Doordash/Instacart & the neighborhood was friendly!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Airbnb is located in a safe and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by great coffee shops and restaurants. The house itself was easy to access, clean, and had all the amenities listed. We especially appreciated access to the back parking pad as street parking can be a little difficult in this area.

House is in a great location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. A short drive will take you to many other points of interest in Pittsburgh. The house is an older structure typical for the area that has been refurbished. Kitchen is small and could use an upgrade in cooking and eating supplies. The house is generally clean but there were residual pet odors and hairs on some of the furniture. Heating system was easy to use and provided comfortable heat.

Very happy with our stay! Nicely updated home with multiple very comfortable bedrooms; great kitchen; easy to use laundry and dishwasher. My husband and I worked from the house for a few days and found it very easy to manage work calls and find comfortable spaces to work, and we had all we needed during our downtime. Very pleased and would definitely consider staying here again!

This charming house was spacious and perfect for our party of 6 adults. The downstairs and full bathroom (with heat lamp!) were private for guests who would find it difficult to take the stairs up and down. The upstairs bedrooms were very roomy and offered a good amount of privacy from each other. The upstairs bathroom had good light and was spacious enough for everybody to keep their bathroom things conveniently in one spot. This house, the care of the host, and the location made me appreciate Pittsburgh even more! I was not ready to leave, and neither was anybody else! Oh, and the parking was so convenient especially given the area. I'm so happy I chose this host and this house.

Great place! The home is nice and comfortable, very ‘livable’. It’s located right near Walnut street with its coffee shops, restaurants and numerous shopping opportunities. It is also very close to the Carnegie Mellon university and the University of Pittsburgh.

This was our second time staying in one of Jake’s properties, and it didn’t disappoint. Our daughter lives in Shadyside, and there are almost no hotels in that area. At Jake’s properties, we can not only walk to our daughter’s apartment, we can walk to all of the amenities in the area including coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores, convenience stores, and even a great yoga studio. Jake is also one of the few Airbnb hosts to have king size beds that are actually comfortable! We’ll definitely stay at one of Jake’s properties again.

The place is located in a wonderful and very walkable location, next to a ton of great shops and restaurants, but it was very quite, no street noise. The place is well furnished and everything is clean and modern, great stay!

Felt like home. Off street parking was nice but there was plenty of spots on the street. Private back patio was great. The beds were extra comfy too! We were easily able to catch an Uber down to the stadium for the Steelers game!

When we entered the house, the back door handle was broken, and sharp. The outlet covers were off in the dining room, the rail was broken on the stairs. The beds were fine, and the heat was fine. The couch was not supportive, very “broken in”. As we cooked every night, there is limited utensils and basic pots The location for restaurant was very good. Parking had to be clarified when we were there. The knob on the first floor washer was broken, but we used the basement one, per direction of the host. The host, or his counter part did communicate with us during the trip, and we shared all this information with them.

Was a quick weekend trip. Boys wanted to meet friends at CMU. Traveled with old parents. So showed them the city. Jake’s place perfectly met our needs. Great location. Bedroom on main level. No steps to enter and exit the house. Easy parking.

Jake's place was ok. As another reviewer commented, the pictures do make the place appear better than it really is. The handrail was broken when we stayed (as I saw mentioned in another review). I communicated this to Jake and he promptly responded that he would have it fixed after our stay. The entire upstairs also has a sloped/warped floor which is unsettling. Jake personally was very responsive and quick to answer any questions I had. But I probably would not stay at this location again.

This house was a great home away from home. It is very spacious and perfectly furnished. Simple and free of clutter. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are well set up. The home was well appointed with all the essentials (towels, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, pots, pans, good TV, internet, etc.). Everything was very clean and the sheets/towels felt new. There are a few minor cosmetic items that should be addressed, but don’t impact the stay. Jake was very receptive to the feedback on these. The location could not be better, as it is about one half block away from the main street in Shady Side where you can find shops, cafes, and great restaurants. Excellent for walking, especially taking a morning stroll for coffee. Parking for two cars is convenient and easy. Jake was excellent with communications…clear, responsive, and concise. The check-in and check-out instructions were simple and easy. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Jake was a great host. He reached out with information before the stay and there was clear information in the house as well. When I had a question he responded very quickly. Jake's place was perfect location for my family and I to explore Pittsburgh, as were in town looking at Carnegie Mellon for our son. Shady Side is a cute part of town. Very safe location. Easy entry by key in entry pad. Clean living space; we didn't cook any meals there but there was adequate pots and pans, utensils, silverware, etc. if you wanted to cook. Short walk to Walnut St where there a handful of bars, restaurants and shops. Very communicative from front to back. I would recommend Jake's place and Shady Side neighborhood for anyone coming in from out of town.

One of the most relaxing stays I’ve had in an Airbnb.

Photos were nice but a bit misleading. Overall an “okay” place if you can overlook the fact there is mold in the upstairs bathroom shower, no hot water in the downstairs shower, the banister was falling out of the wall and the floors are very slanted. Also cheap foam pillows and mattress, and the AC struggled to keep the upstairs cool. Although it is in a very good location and the host was very nice. Overall it’s meh so go in with your eyes open.

This house could not have been in a more perfect location for our first family trip to Pittsburgh. The walkability to some great coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping was key in cutting out some of the driving for us, who were relatively new to the city and its roads. We appreciated the free off-street parking and felt very safe walking around in the neighborhood.

This house was perfect for our family while attending our oldest daughter's college graduation ceremony in Pittsburgh. We had family coming and going, plus 2 kids in college and 1 in high school. We couldn't have found a better location for them to run around, and for all of us to have easy access to ceremonies, food, and entertainment. Plus we had plenty of space for the entire family, and amenities like a washer and dryer which we definitely appreciated! Jake was great! And very responsive when I had questions. I highly recommend this house!!

We’ve stayed at several of Jake’s places and they’re all great. We had to move our plans up a day last minute and Jake dealt with numerous early morning texts to accommodate us. He really went out of his way to help. Our son is at CMU and going forward it will only be Jake’s places for us.

This home is great. Located steps away from Walnut St where there are some great shops and restaurants. The home itself was bigger than I was expecting. The kitchen had the necessities. We spent a lot of time walking the neighborhood and meeting the local bunnies!

The home was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Off Street parking was a huge perk. Bagel place across the street. Great front porch to people watch and comfortable private back patio. Two miles from MaGee Women's hospital and other Oakland based facilities. Just a great experience and will use again if needed!

I had to come back to Pittsburgh for doctor appts. This place was wonderful and so was Chris who answered all my detailed questions. The place in great area and I loved the house especially comfy beds. Due to needing to go to appt almost on arrival, they allowed early check in and late checkout . This home is in the most perfect location. It is steps from Walnut Street shops and restaurants. I needed a procedure at the hospital and Shadyside UPMC was a 2 minute easy drive away, and my sister was able to walk it in 8 minutes. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at Jake's place. The place was super clean and well decorated. The beds were uber comfortable and the towels were plush. Everything about this place was so nice. There were sound machines in the bedrooms and other little touches throughout that made for a very pleasant stay. We would definitely stay here again if we ever returned to the area. The house is spacious and very well located. There is not really a “fenced in yard” like it says in the listing, just a small dirt area next to the patio, so it might not the best for dogs and the pictures are accurate to this. The host was quick to respond to all of our questions and was very helpful. Good stay overall.

Loved the water dispenser in the fridge, and that Netflix was geared up and ready to go. I hope to stay again soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at Jake's Airbnb. The house is very comfy and in the BEST location, just around the corner from the main street in Shadyside. Jake was the most responsive host I have experienced on Airbnb; he answered questions quickly and was VERY accommodating when it came to my requests to check in early and check out late. I would highly recommend Jake's place for your stay in Pittsburgh.

Nice location, esp with Walnut Street close by! Nice location for foodies! The only negative is that S. Aiken is a busy street with traffic noise throughout the eve. One bedroom is over S. Aiken. We have been in noisier places but also have been in much quieter places. Luckily for light sleepers, there are other rooms that are not on S. Aiken to sleep in! Jake was very responsive to our questions. The parking is behind the building and works very well for most vehicles but a full-size pickup would be a challenge. Overall a great visit and very much worth your consideration when staying in Pittsburgh!

Really nice house and convenient location

This property was one of the top quality that we've ever stayed in and we've been using airbnb since its inception! The location of this property was second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed walking to the restaurants and the shops at the walnut street, yet the neighborhood was quiet at night for a good rest. (best of both worlds!) What stood out the most of the interior of the property was the 5 star hotel quality of the beddings and pillows! I don't think I've ever stayed at an airbnb property that provided more comfortable beds/pillows than this unit. The building itself is old, but Jake provided so many amenities such as large size shampoo/conditioner/body soap, Brita filtered water pitcher, plenty of towels for the entire family to use, small face towels, good quality toilet paper, small appliances in the kitchen, laundry machines, and lack of clutter all around the house that made the unit a lot more enjoyable. We would love to come back and stay here again! Thank you Jake!!

Our stay was perfect! We needed a place to fit 8 for one night with no notice and not only was this place nice it was very affordable!

Location is very walkable, with a variety of places to visit in immediate area and felt comfortable doing so. Very convenient parking and access to the city by car also - 10-20 minutes got us to almost all of the places in town we visited. One of very few places we could find that had an easily accessible room (only a couple of steps to main doors) on the main floor with nice rooms upstairs for rest of family. Given the location and age of homes in the area, was very satisfied with the space and general condition of the rental. Unit was in need of some minor maintenance - mainly a couple of places where flooring / tile was loose.

The house is fantastic, clean, well appointed comfortable and in a great location. Walnut Street is wonderful, great shops, fantastic restaurants and so close and walkable. Would absolutely stay here again. Jake is a great host, you can’t ask for better communication and flexibility, he is the model for what a host should be.

Jake was extremely communicative, reliable and accommodating. If I am ever in the pittsburgh area again I 100% will check to see if this place is available again. Great area and great experience for our group. I highly recommend if you want a place that is walkable to MULTIPLE restaurants, bars, shops, activities and within a short distance to other areas of pittsburgh.

Jake’s home is beautiful and it was very convenient for my family. I would definitely love to come back to his home.

Had a great stay. Jake was easy to communicate with and the house was as described. The place has a really nice shower with a built in tile seat on the first floor, nice dining and living areas. Everything was straightforward and easy to find. Walnut Street has lots of restaurants, bars, and shops to explore within a short walking distance. Café Moulin has great breakfast and brunch options. I recommend this stay.

Great Location and responsive host !

Jake was a great host -- a great communicator who went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful stay (like finding a pack n' play for our infant, even though the listing didn't promise one.) The location was great and the house was spacious. We would definitely stay here again.

Location is great and Jake was very responsive to requests and concerns. With 6 people, we would have appreciated more dishes and flatware. The living room sofa seating is not very comfortable, and back patio needs some maintenance and landscaping work to make it more pleasant to use.

Last minute rental while we packed in some college tours around Pittsburgh. Great location near the heart of Shadyside. Plenty of space for our family of 6. Only wish was a little better option for cooking - very limited. But place was clean, easy access. The upstairs bathroom door wouldn’t close fully, but not a big issue for us. Everything else was great.

We had a great stay. The beds and accommodations were very comfortable. Jake was extremely responsive every time I reached out with a questions. The location could not have been better, just 1 block off of Walnut Street in Shady Side and very quiet. Parking was a huge plus! We will definitely stay at Jake's place if it is available next time that we are in Pittsburgh.

Jake's place is in a great location -right at the end of Walnut St. in Shadyside, walking distance to Highland Ave., Squirrel Hill, Oakland, etc. The mattresses were comfortable to sleep on, and the first floor bathroom is nicely renovated! The biggest benefit of this stay is definitely its location. Really can't be beat!

Very spacious and fantastic location. There were lots of nice touches as well, such as extra toothbrush kits available.

Great location - very comfortable furnishings including the beds and well equipped kitchen. It was also nice to have noise machines in every room - not that it was a noisy location.

Unbeatable location and a fair price. House was well equipped and very comfortable. We were able to find street parking right in front of the house. Would recommend to friends and family.

Jake’s place was great and the location worked well for us. We had some trouble getting access initially but Jake was responsive when we reached out about it. It was especially convenient to be able to do laundry during our stay. The upstairs bathroom door makes a disruptively loud sound when closed, which is something to be aware of when staying here with a group. Despite this, given the space and location, Jake’s place is a solid option for the area.

My friends and I had a lovely time at Jake's place. It's located in a prime neighborhood at the heart of Shadyside, walking distance from many restaurants, bars, and other places to hang out. The place itself was lovely--spacious, clean, welcoming, with lots of thoughtful touches. It looked even better in person than in the pictures. Jake himself was a very gracious host. He was super responsive, friendly, thorough with instructions, and flexible. If we visit again, we will definitely return to his place.

This home was perfect for us! Super spacious and was super clean! You can’t beat the location and the parking spot out back was perfect. We loved the beds and all the small touches throughout, would happily stay again.

Can't say enough about the location - everything we needed to go to was only 15 minutes away and time spent in Shadyside was great! Perfect little downtown and just a walk down the alley to get there. Loved the convenience of parking in the back as well.

Lovely little neighborhood, we walked to the yard for dinner which was great. Starbucks was right around the corner for morning coffee.

We had a great stay at Jake’s house! He was very flexible with check in and the house was clean! The location is fabulous - walking distance to downtown Shadyside with tons of restaurants! Overall we had a great stay and would stay there again!

Jake’s home is in a prime location. Only a couple minutes from stores and local restaurants. The home is spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is beautiful and also has a red light. The upstairs bathroom is a little dated but everything was clean and accommodating. I would definitely recommend his home.
